Mr. Ramdas Agarwal was born in 1937 in Jaipur. He did B. Com. also took the degree of Visharad in Hindi literature. Participated many times in sports, and debate competitions on behalf of his school and college. Right from the beginning, he had an image as a good orator and a skilled organizer. Mr. Agarwal is a successful industrialist and is well-versed in the field of mines. Mr. Ramdas Agarwal came to the Rajya Sabha for the first time in 1990 after being elected for 6 years In 1996, he was re-elected unopposed to the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly for the second time. Mr. Agarwal was elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha for the third time on 20 March 2006. In May 1990, he was nominated as the state president of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Rajasthan, after being elected unopposed twice, he took the work of the BJP to great heights as the state president of the Bharatiya Janata Party in Rajasthan for almost seven and a half years and he took many hard-fought opportunities and achieved stunning success.
Mr. Agarwal has been associated with many organizations like Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh, Vidyarthi Parishad, Vishwa Hindu Parishad, and Chamber of Commerce since the beginning and actively worked in them held the positions of office bearers.
On December 24, 1999, Kushabhau Thackeray, the then National President of the Bharatiya Janata Party, nominated him to the post of National Vice President.
June 9, 2001, The then National President of Bharatiya Janata Party Late. Shri Jaina Krishnamurthy was nominated as National Vice President again.
On July 11, 2002, Honourable Shri Venkaiah Naidu, National President of BJP, nominated him as the National Treasurer of BJP. On July 21, 2002, the central leadership of BJP appointed him in charge of Rajasthan and Gujarat, Haryana, Chandigarh. Seeing it Agarwal's capabilities and the political experience, BJP's National President Honourable Shri Rajnath Singh nominated him as National Treasurer of Bharatiya Janata Party again on January 29, 2007.
Shri Aggarwal joined the Rotary Club in 1972 and was elected three times as the President of the club at Bhadrak (Orissa). His whole family is a Pal Heris member of the Rotary Club.
Mr. Aggarwal was unanimously elected the National President of the All India Vaishya Mahasammelan on November 9, 1997, and for the second time in 2001 was elected the President of the All India Vaishya Mahasammelan.
On December 19, 2004, for the third consecutive time, he was elected unopposed president of the All India Vaishya Mahasammelan. In the 1999 Lok Sabha elections, the central leadership left the responsibility of the Rajasthan elections on Ramdas Aggarwal. He achieved huge success in Rajasthan while conducting BJP elections under the guidance of the then Prime Minister Mr. Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
On April 17, 2000, Mr. Agrawal was appointed as the Chairman of the Standing Committee of Parliament on the Ministry of Industry by the then Vice President of India (Chairman of the Rajya Sabha) Mr. Krishan Kant. Apart from the Ministry of Industry, this committee used to monitor about 100 government establishments related to the Ministry of Steel, Mines and Coal, Small Industries, Khadi Village Industries, and Ministries. Mr. Aggarwal was the chairman of this committee till April 9, 2002, and in the meantime, this committee presented important reports in the parliamentary history, which is a record.
In a parliamentary career spanning 18 years, Shri Agarwal accompanied the President of India, the Vice President and the Speaker of the Lok Sabha on several parliamentary delegations to visit various countries.
Shri Aggarwal was elected the founding president of the International Vaishya Mahasammelan in the meeting of distinguished Vaishya leaders held in Delhi on March 31, 2013. Mr. Ramdas Agarwal was a successful person, a keen politician, a renowned industrialist, and a rich soft-spoken personality. Mr. Ramdas ji Agarwal passed away - on 26-01-2017 at Sanganer residence.
