⮚    Family Background:
Socially and politically his respected father Late Shri Subhash Chand Poonia was the former head of Rajgarh Panchayat Samiti. His Father's elder brother Late Shri Ramswaroop Poonia was a prominent freedom fighter of Bikaner division.

⮚    Student Politics:
     From 1982 to 1992 in the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Unit President, Maharaja College, Jaipur Mahanagar Sahmantri (Jaipur), State Sahmantri and State Minister of Rajasthan, successfully led various student movements.
  Student Union General Secretary from Rajasthan University in 1989.

⮚    Youth Politics:
State General Secretary (1992-98), State President (1998-1999) and National Executive Member (2000-2004) in Bharatiya Janata Party Yuva Morcha from 1992 to 1998. Worked as Punjab in-charge.
From the year 2004 to 2014, Bharatiya Janata Party discharged the organizational responsibility of State General Secretary along with State President Shri Lalit Kishore ji Chaturvedi, Shri Mahesh ji Sharma, Shri Arun Chaturvedi and Mrs. Vasundhara Raje ji in Rajasthan.

⮚    1988-89 Active role in Rajasthan University student union election movement.
⮚    1988 Major role in the educational reform movement of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad.
⮚    1988 On the occasion of the birth centenary of the founder of Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh Dr. Hadgwar in Rajasthan University. Dr. Hedgwar played a major role in the successful organization of the "Olympics". This was the first direct program of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh in Rajasthan University in which Rajmata Gayatri Devi and other prominent personalities were present.
⮚    1989: Demonstration against Bofors corruption and arrest in Adarsh Nagar police station.
⮚    Capture of Doordarshan Kendra and arrest in protest against the arrest of students in Udyampur (Jammu and Kashmir) during the movement “Kashmir Satyagraha” for hoisting the Tiranga (National Flag) at Lal Chowk on the call of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad.
⮚    1990: Successful leadership of blood weighing by 250 students during the Ramrath Yatra of the then BJP President Honorable Shri Lal Krishna Advani on his arrival in Jaipur at Rajasthan University.

⮚    1992 Successful organization of “Historical Youth Conference” in Kota Rajasthan during his tenure as State General Secretary of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha.
⮚    Historical Yuva Jagran Pad Yatra:
⮚    1998 As the State President of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, Rajasthan, the historic campaign of “Yuva Jagran Pad Yatra” from Emperor Prithviraj Chauhan Memorial Taragarh (Ajmer) to the land of Bharatpur Maharaja Surajmal from 14 March to 7 April. This was the first such long creative and political journey so far in the political history of Rajasthan. After the defeat of Bharatiya Janata Party in Rajasthan in 1998, this Pad Yatra of 550 kilometers was important for building the morale of the workers, along with about 10 thousand workers, reached 10 lakh people through public relations in 34 assembly constituencies, 9 Lok Sabha constituencies, 225 villages and hamlets. Contacted and spread the virtue of the nuclear test conducted by Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji in Pokhran to the common people.
⮚    1998-2003 Constantly active in the Central Executive of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, working as in-charge of Punjab Pradesh.
⮚    Successful participation in “Youth against Terrorism” International Conference.

Current Politics:-
⮚    During the year 2004 to 2014, as State General Secretary of Rajasthan 4 times, with various organizational responsibilities, he strengthened the party from remote tribal areas to marginal desert areas, strengthened the party from village to village and successfully organized various political movements led.
⮚    2011: As State Convenor, successfully coordinated the Jan Chetna Yatra of senior BJP leader Honourable Lal Krishna Advani in Rajasthan.
⮚    2013 Made a successful contribution in the successful conduct of “Suraaj Sankalp Yatra 2013” of BJP State President Smt. Vasundhara Raje.
⮚    Played an important role as in-charge and star campaigner in the year 2010 and 2015 Haryana Assembly elections.
⮚    Was the BJP candidate from Amer (Jaipur) assembly in the assembly elections 2013.
